Monument to the Victims of Communism in Ottawa - Canada
Communist Sign the petition to support the building of a Monument to the Victims of Communism, in Ottawa, Canada

To: Parliament of Canada
While the horrors of Nazism are well known, who knows that the Soviet Union murdered 20 million people? Who knows that China's dictators have slaughtered an estimated 60 million? Who knows that the Communist holocaust has exacted a death toll surpassing that of all of the wars of the 20th century combined ? Just as we must grasp Communism's brutality, we must understand the true cause of this era's most significant event: the fall of the Soviet Union. While we believe that Vaclav Havel was right when he saw the fall of the Communist empire as an event on the same scale as the fall of the Roman Empire, it was not the end of Communism. Boycott of Greek products in Albania
Boycott of Greek products in Albania!

Albanian nationalists, who accuse Greece of turning the country into a non-conventional colony of Greece, are using the protest to halt the rising power of Greece in the country. In 2006 Greek Imports reached EUR 406mn, while Greek investments are estimated at over EUR 400mn. Greek companies and businesses own substantial shares in the telecommunication, petroleum and financial markets in the country. Strong protests were organized by the "Cham" population, ethnic Albanians that used to live in the territory of current Greece till the end of World War II. Afterwards, they forcedly expelled from their properties. Therefore we call on you to Boycott greek products in Albania

BIRN Editor attacked by Berisha Deputy at Sheraton

Albania News
Berisha is 100% correct for condemning the
Sali Berisha 2005 Electoral Promises and Speculations - Berisha :"Follow me, toward the road of changes". Today he is called "The Prime Minister of Darkness"
reported attack against BIRN editor Besar Likmeta, especially since the journalist was exposing yet another of Berisha's bogus deputies, Tom Doshi. However, if Albania was a normal country, Doshi would be fired immediately.

By Gary Q Kokalari sent exclusively for ACLIS

But since Berisha is condemning his deputy for attacking Z. Likmeta, I would like to know: when is Berisha is going to condemn Fatmir Mediu for sending his goons to attack a video journalist after he was interviewed last November? And when is Berisha going to condemn his own ongoing campaign of intimidation against Albania's media?

The only reason Sali "Enver" Berisha is speaking out against the Doshi attack is that the act was committed on the eve of NATO's decision and the attack occurred in public view at the Sheraton Hotel - managed by a large U.S. corporation that Berisha can't intimidate into silence and one of the most public places in Albania. Had these not been the circumstances, Z. Limeta probably would have been "persuaded" to reconsider his story and walk away with just a bloody nose.

FYI - Doshi is with Berisha's coalition and under Health Minister Ndoka. He's said to be the richest deputy in parliament and owns ProFarma, the Albanian pharmaceutical giant that is reputed to have been awarded all the tenders from the Ministry of Health. He never attends parliament and is alleged to be a notorious thug from Shkoder who was originally aligned with Fatos Nano.

Albania PM Condemns Attack on BIRN Editor

13 March 2008 Tirana _ Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha condemned an assault on BIRN Albania Editor Besar Likmeta, in a statement issued Thursday.

“The Prime Minister has learned with worry the news of an act of violence toward the journalist, Besar Likmeta by deputy Tom Doshi, in the presence of deputy Arben Isaraj,” read the statement.

“Condemning this act of violence and all similar acts towards journalists, the Prime Minister asks all the competent authorities to begin a thorough investigation into this unacceptable act,” the statement added.

Tom Doshi, a deputy from Albania's ruling centre-right coalition, lashed out violently in a hotel bar in Tirana when confronted by this reporter over his fake law degree from Tetovo University in Macedonia.

The assault took place at 10.30pm in Sheraton bar, in front of another deputy and other witnesses and left me with a black eye and broken spectacles.

The unprovoked attack took place after Doshi agreed to be interviewed over his non-existent law diploma from the University of Tetovo, whose true status had been exposed in a Balkan Insight investigation into fake degrees.

Our investigation found the Albanian authorities were turning a blind eye to a black market in fake university degree, many purporting to come from Tetovo University in Macedonia. Read more at: Albania Ignores Trade in Fake Degrees

We revealed how the Ministry of Education had in some cases certified fake degrees as authentic and failed to publicise its findings once a number of fake degrees had been detected.

This was in spite of the fact that the presentation of false documents is a criminal offence in Albania, meriting up to three years' imprisonment.

In the original report, Balkan Insight took an editorial decision not to publish Doshi's name, trusting that the details in the report would prompt the Albanian authorities into reacting. The investigation was based on documents obtained from the Ministry of Education.

When the ministry remained silent, we decided to make Doshi's name public. A businessman, he is the richest deputy in parliament, with a declared wealth of 1.14 billion lek (€9.3 million). Read more at: Shamed Albania MP Lashes Out At Exposure
