Monument to the Victims of Communism in Ottawa - Canada
Communist Sign the petition to support the building of a Monument to the Victims of Communism, in Ottawa, Canada

To: Parliament of Canada
While the horrors of Nazism are well known, who knows that the Soviet Union murdered 20 million people? Who knows that China's dictators have slaughtered an estimated 60 million? Who knows that the Communist holocaust has exacted a death toll surpassing that of all of the wars of the 20th century combined ? Just as we must grasp Communism's brutality, we must understand the true cause of this era's most significant event: the fall of the Soviet Union. While we believe that Vaclav Havel was right when he saw the fall of the Communist empire as an event on the same scale as the fall of the Roman Empire, it was not the end of Communism. Boycott of Greek products in Albania
Boycott of Greek products in Albania!

Albanian nationalists, who accuse Greece of turning the country into a non-conventional colony of Greece, are using the protest to halt the rising power of Greece in the country. In 2006 Greek Imports reached EUR 406mn, while Greek investments are estimated at over EUR 400mn. Greek companies and businesses own substantial shares in the telecommunication, petroleum and financial markets in the country. Strong protests were organized by the "Cham" population, ethnic Albanians that used to live in the territory of current Greece till the end of World War II. Afterwards, they forcedly expelled from their properties. Therefore we call on you to Boycott greek products in Albania

Albanian Minister Fired over Sex Scandal

Albania News
The Albanian PM fired Culture Minister Pango for telling female students to take their clothes off to prove they are ready for anything.

Tirana - Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha fired the

nation's culture minister late Wednesday after a local television channel showed him sexually harassing a woman seeking a job in his office. The largest private TV in Albania, the Top Channel, previously showed Culture, Youth, Tourism and Sports Minister Ylli Pango, 56, asking sexual favours from the woman seeking work.

Berisha's cabinet said in a statement that Pango was immediately fired over "ethically unacceptable acts."

Berisha named Ardian Turku as the new culture minister and Albanian president Bamir Topi was due to sign the appointment later in the day.

The opposition already called on the authorities to prosecute Pango for sexual harassment and abuse of authority.

1997-99 Head of Leading Committee of Albanian State Radio Television
1999-ongoing Dean of Faculty of Social Sciences - University of Tirana
2002 Political counsellor of the President of Republic of Albania

Ylli Pango, the Albanian Culture Minister, was fired after a private Albanian television channel, Top Channel, showed a report filmed with a hidden camera on which Minister Pango invited into his flat a group of students looking for work and then harassing them.

He asked the girls to take off their clothes to convince him that they are prepared to do anything for the job, local media reported.

    Berisha fires Pango

Prime Minister Sali Berisha dismissed the corrupt 56-year-old minister.

    - Pango cannot explain his position at the moment as long as he is performing his duty as minister – the Albanian government said in a statement.

Bot Pango denied all accusations and said the media had caused the entire incident.

Pango is a psychology professor and a member of the ruling Democratic Party. He has been minister since March 2007.

Albanian PM joins film school spat

Albania's Prime Minister Sali Berisha has sacked the minister of culture as a bitter dispute over property rights to the country's only film school, the Marubi Film Academy in Tirana, spirals out of control.

Ylli Pango was dismissed after a TV comedy show "Fiks Fare" broadcast a secretly-recorded tape of the minister in a pornographically lewd conversation with a journalist.

A policeman who had roughed up filmmaker and academy rector Kutjim Cashku during protests outside the school was also fired in a move the school's supporters see as a shift in official attitudes in their favor.

Pango's dismissal came less than two weeks after violent clashes between police and film school staff and students prompted a sit-in at the school, which occupies premises at a former state-owned film studio.

The government is challenging the school's legal rights to the property, which it wants to turn into a car park for the country's top TV studios.

The latest events came after a televised debate in which Pango and Cashku were supposed to discuss the future of the film school descended into mudslinging over events more than 20 years ago when Albania was a closed Marxist state run by Communist dictator Enver Hoxha.
