Monument to the Victims of Communism in Ottawa - Canada
Communist Sign the petition to support the building of a Monument to the Victims of Communism, in Ottawa, Canada

To: Parliament of Canada
While the horrors of Nazism are well known, who knows that the Soviet Union murdered 20 million people? Who knows that China's dictators have slaughtered an estimated 60 million? Who knows that the Communist holocaust has exacted a death toll surpassing that of all of the wars of the 20th century combined ? Just as we must grasp Communism's brutality, we must understand the true cause of this era's most significant event: the fall of the Soviet Union. While we believe that Vaclav Havel was right when he saw the fall of the Communist empire as an event on the same scale as the fall of the Roman Empire, it was not the end of Communism. Boycott of Greek products in Albania
Boycott of Greek products in Albania!

Albanian nationalists, who accuse Greece of turning the country into a non-conventional colony of Greece, are using the protest to halt the rising power of Greece in the country. In 2006 Greek Imports reached EUR 406mn, while Greek investments are estimated at over EUR 400mn. Greek companies and businesses own substantial shares in the telecommunication, petroleum and financial markets in the country. Strong protests were organized by the "Cham" population, ethnic Albanians that used to live in the territory of current Greece till the end of World War II. Afterwards, they forcedly expelled from their properties. Therefore we call on you to Boycott greek products in Albania

Albanian Youth:

Denis Gjoni, a high-achieving student in a tough program

I Am Albanian

Unlike his native Albania, Gjoni from Fier, is no isolationist. He is president of the Honors College Council, program director of Student Congress and a member of the Joint Council of Engineering Organizations and Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.

As a child, Denis Gjoni never needed a

remote control to watch television.  His sole viewing option in communist Albania was the state-run, you’ll- see-what-we-want-you-to-see network, and it was available only six hours a day.

Just buying a television—as well as most other household appliances—required permission from the government. Most citizens were prohibited from owning a car. Children wore red scarves to school, reinforcing their allegiance to the Communist Party.

Such was pre-democracy life in this pint-sized slice of the Adriatic coast that had isolated itself during a half-century of repressive rule. Still, Gjoni (pronounced Joanie) was happy living in what was considered the poorest and most backward country in Europe.

“It was like The Truman Show,” said the 23-year-old UTA computer science and engineering senior, referring to the 1998 Jim Carrey movie about a family living a seemingly idyllic life. “You don’t know any better, so you make the most of what you have.”

Eliza Dushku Interview - ''The New Guy''

I Am Albanian
Eliza Dushku began her big screen acting career co-starring with Juliette Lewis in the 1992 film, "That Night." Since then, she's been working steady in
    Mrs.Eliza Dushku
both films and on television. In 1998, Eliza increased her fan base with her very popular recurring role as 'Faith' on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer."

In "The New Guy," Eliza Dushku stars as Danielle, the beautiful head cheerleader and love interest of DJ Qualls' character, Diz. Before leaving on a cross-country tour to promote "The New Guy," Eliza sat down with the media in Los Angeles to discuss her career, her role in this romantic comedy, and the hardships of life in high school.

Was "Can't Buy Me Love" a big influence on the people making this movie?
I would imagine so but I don't know in particular. I mean, it seems to me that it's very 'on the same page.' Especially when he disses his friends. That's like the moment when everyone is like, "Dude, you did it. You crossed the line." You just feel for him, even though he is such a shit. My heart breaks. I remember throwing a Popsicle stick in my now-best friend's hair because all the cool girls in school were like, "Throw this Popsicle stick in her hair." I was like, "I can't, she was my friend." I just didn't know what to do.

Erion Veliaj - Enough is Enough!

Albanian People
If you have visited Albania in recently, you have probably seen the characteristic red hand and accompanying statement MJAFT! If so, you have
    Enough
caught that the theme is ENOUGH! of something, and that those somethings are themes such as corruption, trafficking, poor level of services, revenge, and poverty.

In the spring of 2003 MJAFT! began making its mark on the nation with a four-month campaign aimed at uniting and vocalizing the social concerns of Albanians. MJAFT! advocates have been speaking out on issues ranging from corruption to blood feuds, from human trafficking to poverty.
Erion Veliaj, the founder of MJAFT! and a fellow believer, got back from a time of university study in America and with a mixture of his personal faith and a sense - instilled through activism during his college studies -
